There is something stoically beautiful about Österlen. If you haven't put "hiking between Kivik and Simrishamn" on your bucket list, do it. Do it now. An almost sacred experience!
Dress for the weather and fill the picnic back and take the bus from Brunnsparken in Simrishamn at 11:35. 25 minutes later you arrive in Kivik and down the hill you can see the Pirate's old house and the fantastic @tryffelsvinet_kivik which really shouldn't be there at all but somewhere down by the Amalfi Coast. But that's where it is anyway: on the old bus square in Kivik.
Start your hike south towards @stenshuvuds_nationalpark. On the way you will not only pass the mythical @kiviksgraven and apple orchards in hibernation but also the master of the word Ranelid's house and shortly thereafter the historic @kiviksmusteri
From the top of Stenshuvud, you can see Bornholm to the southeast and the entire magnificent Baltic Sea. Continue south along Sweden's dreamiest beach: Knäbäcksshusen. Past the small chapel at Knäbäckshusen, @gronabutikenorelund cultivations and the always beautiful golf course Lilla Vik, @osterlensgk Treat yourself to a good lunch or sit down on the slopes and enjoy your picnic.
When you reach Vik, the most picturesque of all Österlen's fishing villages, you're more than halfway through your trip. After another half hour or so, you'll reach the next fantastic fishing village: Baskemölla. And you still have perhaps the most beautiful stretch left, the one along the beach to Vårhallarna and Pärlfiskarens hus.
Barely fifteen minutes later, via Vitebroar and Tobisvik, you are back in picturesque Simrishamn.
